Pilates Teacher Training
Milner Pilates Studio is proud to be an affiliate of the Pilates Education Institute to offer a complete Pilates Teacher Training pathway. Whether you're beginning your teaching journey or refining your skills, we offer flexible training programs to help you succeed.
All programs include an apprenticeship phase and meet the guidelines required to sit for the PMA®-CPT exam.
A non-refundable deposit is required for all enrollments.
No refunds are given once the program begins.
Reading Requirements
1) Pilates, Return to Life through Contrology by Joseph H. Pilates and William John Miller
2) Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germain
3) Pilates (Third Edition) by Rael Isacowitz
*Mat Certification Requirements
The Pilates Mat certification training can be completed Separately, but is a requirement for the Comprehensive Training Program. If you are doing Comprehensive (mat and equipment) then fast forward to next section for those details. Should you choose to complete only Mat portion, the following requirements must be met before receiving a certification of completion:
Mat I,II,III
Requirements (100 hr.)
- 25 Lecture hours (includes Mat I,II,III)
- 25 Observational hours
- 25 Practical hours
- 25 Teaching hours (Apprenticeship Phase)
- Test Out -Passing a Written, Teaching and Practical test
Deposit $300 (nonrefundable)
Total $2000.00
No refunds are given once the program begins.

The Course will Consist of:
- Pilates Manual
- Pilates History, Principles, Ethics, & Scope of Practice
- Pilates Anatomy, Breath and Movement
- Learning Mat Pilates exercises including classical repertoire and contemporary approaches
- Necessary modifications for injuries or to advance said movement
- Practice, observation and teaching hours
- Test Out
Lecture hours will consist of Course work, anatomy and learning of the exercises with the Program Director.
Observation, practical and teaching hours are the responsibility of each student done at home for the first 12 then at Milner Pilates studio, guidance with the Program director is available if needed.
****Certification will not be awarded till all hours are met! Each student is a candidate for conceivable hire.

*Comprehensive Pilates Certification
(Mat and Equipment)
The Comprehensive teacher training certification program covers Mat and the Pilates equipment (ie. Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Wunda chair, Ladder Barrel/Arc and small props). Should you choose to complete the course, the following requirements must be met before receiving a certification of completion.

Comprehensive Requirements (450 hr.)
Mat
- 25 Lecture hours (includes Mat I,II,III)
- 25 Observational hours
- 25 Practical hours
- 25 Teaching hours (Apprenticeship Phase)
- Passing a Written, Practical and Teaching test
- 30 Lecture hours each apparatus
- 25 practical hours each
- 25 observation hours each
- 25 teaching hours each
- Passing a Written, Practical and Teaching test

Total $5,500.00

- Practice, observation and teaching hours.

Lecture hours will consist of Course work, anatomy and learning of the exercises on each Pilates apparatus with the Program Director, videos and documentaries

*Refresher Course
This course is ideal for the already certified teacher that needs a brush up on the Pilates work. The course will consist of lecture basic anatomy, practical, observational and teaching hours.
Refresher Course
Requirements (60 hr.)
- 10 hours Lecture (which includes basic anatomy and going over Pilates repertoire)
- 15 Observational hours
- 15 Practical hours
- 15 Teaching hours
- 5 More hours needed in weaker areas that will be determined by Program Director
- A final assessment of student will be observed through a Teaching and Practical hour
- Must be completed within 6 months of start date
