Pilates Teacher Training
Milner Pilates Studio is proud to be an affiliate with the Pilates Education Institute offering the Milner Pilates Certification Program. We Offer a 100 hour Mat Certification Program, and/or 450 hour Comprehensive Certification Program and a 60 Hour Refresher Course. Each program has an apprenticeship phase with a contingency for hire at Milner Pilates Studio. This course meets all of the guidelines for taking the PMA®-CPT exam. All teacher training enrollments require a non-refundable deposit of $300. No Refunds given at the start of the Program.

2) Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germain
3) Pilates (Third Edition) by Rael Isacowitz
Mat Pilates Teacher Training (Mat Only)
The Pilates Mat Training can be completed Separately, but is a requirement for the Comprehensive Training Program. If you are doing Comprehensive (mat and equipment) then fast forward to next section for those details. Should you choose to complete only Mat portion, the following requirements must be met before receiving a certification of completion:
Mat I,II,III
100 Total hours
- 30 Lecture hours (includes Mat I,II,III)
- 20 Observational hours
- 25 Practical hours
- 25 Teaching hours (Apprenticeship Phase)
- Passing a Written, Teaching and Practical test
- Must be completed within 6 months of start date
Lecture hours will consist of Course work, anatomy and learning of the exercises with the Program Director.
Observation, practical and teaching hours are the responsibility of each student done at home for the first 12 then at Milner Pilates studio, guidance with the Program director is available if needed.
****Certification will not be awarded till all hours are met! Each student is a candidate for conceivable hire.

- Pilates History, Principles, Ethics, & Scope of Practice
- Pilates Anatomy, Breath and Movement
- Mat Pilates exercises including classical repertoire and contemporary approaches
- Necessary modifications for injuries or to advance said movement
- Practice, observation and teaching hours
- Test Out

Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training
The Comprehensive teacher training certification program covers Mat and the Pilates equipment (ie. Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Wunda chair, Ladder Barrel and small props). Should you choose to complete the course, the following requirements must be met before receiving a certification of completion.

450 Total Hours
- Mat~ 30 Lecture hours, 25 practical, 20 observation hours, 25 teaching hours (100 hours total)
- Reformer~ 30 Lecture hours, 25 practical hours, 25 observation hours, 25 teaching hours (115 hours total)
- Cadillac/Tower ~ 30 Lecture hours, 25 practical hours, 25 observation hours, 25 teaching hours (115 hours total)
- Chair/ Barrel~ 30 Lecture hours, 25 practical hours, 25 observation hours, 25 teaching hours (115 hours total)
- Passing a Written, Practical and Teaching test~ 5 hours

** If already certified in Mat a refresher option will be provided, where upon Program director will assess and review Mat work and the 100 hours will be waived if approved.

Refresher Course
This course is ideal for the already certified teacher that needs a brush up on the Pilates work. The course will consist of lecture basic anatomy, practical, observational and teaching hours.
60 Total Hours
- 10 hours Lecture (which includes basic anatomy and going over Pilates repertoire)
- 15 Observational hours
- 15 Practical hours
- 15 Teaching hours
- 5 More hours needed in weaker areas that will be determined by Program Director
- A final assessment of student will be observed through a Teaching and Practical hour
- Must be completed within 6 months of start date
A Manual will be provided for the Program.
